Summer Vacation 2010...and Art? ( For all Form Classes 1-5)

Hi Students. First of all, sorry to not keeping the blog up and running as promised. But, from this September, things will be better managed. I know most of you kept asking for more stuff to be posted... so brace yourselves come this September, 2010!!!

On another note, I hope you guys had a great time during the summer holidays. I know most of you were glad for this period and to get away from all the heavy studies and stuff but do remember Art is FUN, RELAXING, CREATIVE, EXPRESSIVE and also DARING and WOW!! I NEVER KNEW I WAS THAT GOOD!! .

Seriously, I do trust and hope that you DID try some craft projects, paintings, drawings, scribblings, and so forth. It is possible to enjoy your summer vacation and develop Art skills and Art Appreciation of art which is all around us. Think about it......When you go shopping, or to different places while with your family, be it in Trinidad, Tobago or other countries, LOOK and OBSERVE everything (buildings, sculptures, paintings, jewellry, textiles, landforms, parks, hotels and their landscaping, CEPEP...everything!) with your artistic eye. Or, by simply asking yourself, " I wonder how they created that?"....and then try to figure it out. You wil learn a a great deal on your own and in your own way when you think like an artist or creatively. You will come to better appreciate Art that is all around us...man-made and natural.

As you all would know by now, Vishnu Boys Hindu College is celebrating it 10th Anniversary this year.... We have lots of things in store... Art wise, I am planning an Art Exhibition featuring the works of your students, past students, teachers and even parents!!! There is going to be lots of excitement...the date is yet to be announced....but you guys will get it first via this blog. So, why not do some research, do some art...on your own. You never know when that piece could be your masterpiece!!!!

Enjoy!!! ...and feel free to comment and share with us what you did for your summer holidays.....Art related of course!
