This term we looked at painting with a new paint medium- glass paints. I know all students were very pleased using this type of paint and enjoyed the various activities that followed during the term. Please reflect on your experiences and share them with us. What was the experience like for you? What do you think about the medium used? What was the biggest "wow" factor for you during this term's work? How are you going to use this new skill in your future? Has this term's work affected the way you see art now? Enjoy reflecting! I find glass painting to be one of the easiest activity in my history of Visual Arts. This is so because the first time i tried it was a little hard but i got the hang of it. The experience to paint anything whether it is flowers or animals,i really enjoyed that activity. It showed me the beauty of Glass Painting when you place it into the sun, it was amazing. I really enjoyed this experience with Glass Painting. I was amazed by the effect of the image when placed in the sun, it was astounding. I actually used this skill to create a lovely flower for my mom in her time of pain. So i intend to paint inspiring, colourful, and beautiful Glass Paintings for my family and friends who are in dire need for comfort. I always thought that Visual Arts was hard but now i have come to love and appreciate it more. I am looking forward to the next topic.

This experience in glass painting was very interesting. It had a lot of fun factors to it and I loved doing projects based on it. The painting medium of glass painting was a very enjoyable topic to me. The biggest "wow" factor to me was when I was taught that glass painting is not only for windows but for many other things and how I can incorporate many different things from this experience. This lesson will help me a lot in the future because when I am building my house I can plan to use my experience to make decorations and designs for my home.

  3. This is experience was great because it was the first time I painted with glass paints. I think this was a great madium to show the beauty of the paint with she sun's light. The biggest 'wow' factor of this term's work is the experience of doing my own glass painting and see the beauty of it. I will use this new skill in the future by decorating windows and much more. Yes, this term's work has changed my my view on art. Thank you for this experience Sir. (Dravid Singh)

Glass painting has took my mindset of art to another level because as growing up i only thought art was only on paper. At first glass painting was a little challenging for me due to the fact that painting was not my strong point. But when i began doing it, it was alot of fun for me using this special type of paint that allows light to past through it giving the art piece a certain texture to it. I love the way when you paint on a glass how it shows movement in the art work. The colour of the art work really is delightful when light shines through. In the future i am going to glass paint the windows in my home to give the rooms a upbeat feeling. I am also going to glass paint old glass ornaments in my home to make the feel and look newer. The new medium used really broaden my mindset on art because i never thought that glass could of been painted on but now i see that almost any surface can be painted on.In my point of view the sixty dollars spent on the glass paints were worth it. because the colours are still full and it lasts for a long time. Glass painting is a really nice way to get away from using a piece of paper to do art on and i cannot wait until i learn more skills in this wonderful new aspect of art that helps me explore within myself for an art piece .

This terms work on glass paining was a wonderful learning experience. I learnt that glass painting can be used to create mater pieces out of a plain campus. The biggest "wow" factor for me was that when the sunlight shines through the painted glass, it creates a pattern of colour on the other side and the fact that the glass paints are transparent creates a beautiful image. I will definitely be doing this in the future. I plan to paint the windows of my house with glass paints. I now see art as creating something great out of nothing because of glass painting.

At first I didn't really understand glass painting, but as the class progressed I learned more and more about this very unique style of painting and I "caught on" very quickly.I also paid special attention with the little precautions and steps that should be taken before, during and after painting. Then when Sir did an example of painting,I could have now said that I see why glass painting is unique. Then when I went home and tried it I was a little nervous but after I did a painting on a bird, then a painting of Lord Ganesh and then a painting on glass it self of a bird on a grapes vine. The experience all and all was very educational, interesting, fun and beneficial.
Some of the mediums used was glass paint, brushes, transparency sheets or glass material,Sharpie Marker and tape to keep the sheets from moving when painting.
For me the biggest 'wow' factor had to be when a art piece is completed and you hold up the painting to the light and see the effect that takes place and another was coming to school and seeing the other wonderful art work that other students did.
Most likely in the future I would use this skill to create something from glass bottles that is just there around and I would also use this to make wall hangings, background for my aquarium and to make gifts for family members on births, Christmas etc.
Last but certainly not least this term's work has majorly chanced the way I see art and I would seriously be considering doing Visual Art when the time comes to pick subjects to do when i reach higher forms ;)

I will like to say that glass painting is and inspirational topic that should be taught in all schools. This will allow you to learn and try how certain things will be like in glass painting. It will show you how basic glass paiting can be beautiful and can be very costly by years to come by.Glass painting is not just inspiring but is for some a desire and also some live by doing glass painting.Glass painting can be used in home decor and can be seen in many different places such as in the church.Glass painting is not just a piece of art its for some people insipering and interesting and they might just love it, they might as well as adore it and some might live with doing it.You can paint on transparency paper, glass, glass windows, mirrors and on glass doors.Mr. Dilip maharaj taught me a lot on glass painting and it was just as simple for me.People will adore glass painting very much that they will fall in love with this topic and they will love the view on how it will look.

  12. I have always liked glass painting so learning how to do it, was amazing. Glass painting has taught me patience and how to make normal boring things into master pieces. I actually taught that the paint would have taken forever to dry but it had dried very quickly. Doing this exercise I learned how to admire art in a whole new way. Because of this, I don’t need to waste any more money on cards, decorations and plenty other stuff to discover. It is really amazing.

i think glass painting was interesting especially how when you paint on glass with it and the light hits it you can see the light coming out as the colours on the glass painting. In my opinion, the most interesting part about it is how many possibilities there are that you can do to transform it into something useful. But, there is one just only one problem that i sometimes have is when I paint certain parts of the glass/transparency sheet the paint pulls together and leaves part of where I painted blank. But other than that I truly think it was a magical experience

  20. My name is Nirvan Dalphus and I attend form 2.v of The Vishnu Boys Hindu College. I think that glass painting was an amazing topic and it has transformed me. It has made this transformation by exposing me to a more enhanced level of art. Art is not just about drawing or painting, glass painting made me realize this. While doing my pieces I felt really confident because I knew that I was starting to get better at it. I now go to the ten dollar stores and get glasses to work on.Since I have recently bought a new set of glass paints I will have extra for my personal uses. When my father saw the pieces I produced he was shocked and asked me to make a candle holder for decoration. I really love this topic and I also love art. every term I keep learning new exciting topics which amuse me. I cannot wait for next term's topic. I have benefited greatly from this topic because I now have knowledge about a technique that can help me to make money later on in life.It was worthwhile and I am sure that everyone enjoyed it.

Glass painting for me was very exciting because as a kid I always wondered how you would paint on glass without it coming of so easily. Glass paints look very beautiful when you use them because they are a bit see-through. During this term I experimented a few times with glass paints and also painted on my window. The best experience I had in school with glass painting was where we had to draw something and paint it. I had a lot of fun with that project. I can use this new skill to beautify my home. This term's work has affected the way I see art because it brings a whole new brightness and colour to art.

  25. When I heard that all the form twos were going to do a topic in art called glass painting ,the first taught which came to my mind were the stained glass in churches. To my belief this was not as complecated as many people may think and it was not even close to staining glass. There may be some complecations according to the different types of paint used , some usualy bubbles up when applied to the glass ,I normaly use enamel and varnish. To me glass painting is quite easy because of the techniques I use. I enjoyed the medium used and I liked the way in which my art teacher thinks , I am quite glad he introduced this medium to us , because in other secondary schools this form of art is not thaught. I think the bigest 'wow' factor was the effect the art gives when it is held up to the sun's light. I am proudly going to use this art form in the future because I have already planed to paint a big om and place it in my temple at home. Yes this affected the way in which I see art because this medium showed me that art is not only on paper, canvas and textile but also on glass.

I am going to use this new skill by creating unique gifts for family and friends. My first time with glass painting was really fun because I wanted to see the reflection of it in the sunlight. I was very anxious and happy to do my first piece. I had confidence in myself that I will be able to do it at my best ability. I thought they only used it for windows but it can be used for anything in glass. This benefited me because I could make my own glass with a decoration instead of buying one. It also benefited me because I know that I could make my own glass and sell it.

Since I was capable enough, I always loved Art. In form 2, of Vishnu Boys Hindu Collage, I was introduced to glass painting by my Visual Art teacher. I remember every minute of that mind – blowing scenery, of a fish swimming in the ocean. It was astonishing to witness something as simple as paint being used in such fascinating and unique ways. Glass paint looks so wonderful the way which light passes through it reflecting the beauty of the painting. It is also an experience which I learnt the different styles of glass painting which you can use to decorate glass bottles, vases, etc. or even make craft such as wind chimes, Sun Shades, or a card. This type of painting is very encouraging to me, once I was introduced to glass painting I felt as if I could have painted every piece of glass I saw.
Glass painting is something I will never forget because even if things don’t work out in the future pertaining to a career choice, I could always paint glass paintings and sell them to make a living or maybe as a part time job. I love glass painting and I will always enjoy glass painting for the rest of my life. I could honestly say that glass painting has made a difference in my life in terms of artistic knowledge.

My glass painting experience was filled with excitement and joy. But what I thought was most important is I was able to move away from the general idea that art should only involve pencils and paper. This led me being able to expand my knowledge. Over the term I think glass painting took art to another level.
The look of glass painting when the sun passed through it I felt a bit uplifted. When I was doing my first glass painting I was very anxious to know how it would have turned out to look. This would help me later in life because it will help me invest on spending for Christmas, since I could simply make items from the teaching I have learn t.

This term I learned a new type of painting called glass painting. At first, I started learning to do glass painting on transparency pages. I learned that in glass painting you must firstly have a point of emphasis, this is important in order to get to create contrast in the painting. Contrast in a painting is one of the main aspects that bring out the beauty in painting by making the picture deeper and brighter. Next, you should have various, vibrant colors. This is what makes is stand out with other glass painting and even by itself. The last thing is to do is to use a black, permanant marker or leading and draw lines to make the painting looked as if it is cracked. It also makes the transpearcy page look more like glass. With this knowledge you can venture on create beautiful things such as transforming a bottle into a bottle that looks like a magnificent glass painted vase. The experience was the best I ever had in Visual Arts. The biggest wow factor for me was the beauty of hoe the glass painting looked in the light. In the future I am going to use this skill to create more glass paintings.

The biggest wow factor for me during this terms work was doing glass painting just watching all the colours flow and come together made me feel calm it felt as if I was in a trans at first I thought well maybe this is hard but with practice it got easier and easier I really hope that I can learn more techniques in glass painting this was one of the best topics I have ever done and now iv realized that I can make all sorts of stuff using glass painting also make gifts so this was the biggest wow factor for me this term.I will use tis skill the futre to make decorations for my house instead of paying money to do it I now have the skill of glass painting to do wonderful amazing stencil designs on my windows or glass door and much more this skill can not only do that but help me with gifts for friends this skill will become a good factor in my futre life. My first introduction to glass painting was both interesting and frightening. I was frightened at first because glass paints were not thick as acrylic paints which I thought would be difficult to apply on an object. However, it began to get interesting as I created my own piece and came out pretty well. As time went by it became easier. The most interesting part about glass painting was when I created my piece of an old man cutting cane and I got praised for it. I would definitely consider doing glass painting in the near future because it teaches you how you can transform an object like glass into something that you wouldn't expect and turn out to be extraordinary.

There were many ways in which I benefited from glass painting and this project. Some of which were: to develop the skills in glass painting, build my confidence and most importantly, while I was doing this project I had express myself which means that I had to go deep down inside and reflect and that required critical thinking. My first meetings with glass paints weren’t the best however, piece, after piece, after piece, I would not say that I have mastered the art but I have gained the required skills in order to do what I have done so far. I do not think that I would have where I am now without the help of Sir Dillip Denesh Maharaj and that is what I like about him, he makes you do things which you think you cannot do. However, the truth is everyone can do it, they just have to get rid of that laziness inside of them and work hard and their end product will be absolutely brilliant. That is exactly what I’ve developed in me throughout this journey. I felt positive in my work because I know I would get back good responses. This brings me to the end of things and this was basically my journey through glass painting.

  42. My experiences with using glass paints were very delightful.Since it was my first time using this medium, I was a bit skeptical as to what the results would be.While painting with the glass paints I realized that the consistency of the paints are very runny and easy to spread throughout your painting. The biggest "wow" factor for me during this term was how amazed I was at the results of my work and the astounding things you can make with this skill.Glass painting is very beneficial to me because just recently my Grandmother celebrated her birthday and I gave her a painting. Also, when Mother's Day came I made a painting and a card for my mom.Seeing their expressions of happiness and smiles on their faces was priceless. This topic made me see art in a different light,it made me realize that art isn't just about drawing and painting. It is many different aspects and skills.that you can apply to your everyday life.Glass painting is very addictive and I look forward to experimenting with this skill in the future. In closing I would like to thank you for teaching me this useful skill. For me glass painting was very interesting because I thought of art as drawing , painting and craft but when I taught that glass can be painted it changed philosophy of art and now I really enjoy art as a hobby mostly the glass painting . You can take something as simply as glass and transparency paper and transform it into decorations like candle holders, wind chimes and cards

When I started glass painting, I was nervous yet excited to try this new type of paint medium. As I started doing my glass painting, I felt relived. It became so easy and I loved the way how the glass paint looked on the transparency sheet. The glass paint looked brighter on the sheet as light reflected on it. I felt that I have accomplished a lifelong skill. Glass painting is a wonderful topic that I enjoy doing. Every time I have a project to do, I will try to incorporate glass painting into it.

  45. As we where doing this activity in my class , My mind was at the highest level of creativity and designs on what i could of done with the glass paints , But as we started doing our custom paintings and designs i found it a bit hard to put my imagination on the transparency sheet. After a few tries i started getting the effect i wanted on the sheet. What really made me say "WOW!" was the stenciling activity we had to do, I was really impressed by my self of the outcome of my finish product because i designed my own custom stencil template , This skill i gathered is going to help me in the future for custom made birthday cards , custom made jerseys , custom made glasses , custom made wall hangings etc.
This lesson was a very enjoyable & fun activity and i now look at art in a way to express my self in the form of drawings , paintings and design

The artwork is very interesting. I think it is fascinating as I thought it would be hard but to my surprise it was easy to do and turns out beautiful. I now know that I can do this as a project or hobby and decorate items of plane glass in my home like candle holders, vases, bottles and if ever my mom allows the windows. It was art a long time ago, as Churches used it to decorate their windows and it became noticeably beautiful. Then it began to be used in other buildings and even on household items. When light shines through a glass painting it is even brighter and more colourful. The effect of light on it causes the colours to shine on objects inside making them look very colourful. This effect makes glass painting even more interesting and cool with all this different beautiful colours. I know I want to develop this skill a lot more. Glass painting is one of the most beautiful painting it has. Also the artwork comes out very fascinating.

This term I have learned how to use glass paints. I benefitted from this topic, greatly! I painted and expressed my own designs using glass paints and demonstrated them on glass.
I believe that, I can paint some glass and sell them to the stores. In this way people will fall in love with them, and purchase my art work. I am sure that people will buy them, because once you put hard work to an activity, it always pays off positively in your life. With this term's work, I feel as though I've been inspired to create more aesthetical art pieces.

Glass painting is very interesting and fun but when I started it was difficult. In my first glass painting I used a brushing technique to spread the paint on the transparency sheet. This was really hard and it took a lot of coats to brighten the image but the end result was spectacular, especially when light passed through it. After a while, I learnt that if you use the brush and gently apply the paint by dabbing it onto the sheet, you will get a more solid colour.
As I progressed in doing this, I began to really enjoy it and it became easier. Glass paints are very different, some ooze a lot, some are not transparent while others are transparent and very light whereas some are very dark. If you use your colours right, balancing dark and light colours, your painting would be a masterpiece.
My biggest 'wow' factor was seeing my first glass painting after it was finished. It looked really terrific. Although people may think otherwise, I know how hard I worked on it and it paid off in the end. Art is really fun and I absolutely enjoyed glass painting. Also I have a lot of paint remaining so I looked up some glass paintings and I found a few that I would like to try over the holidays. I hope everyone enjoyed glass painting as much as I did.

There are a few ways in which I have benefitted from glass painting. The first and most obvious one is that I have learnt how to do a new type of painting. The second is that I can now create items that I can use to decorate my home.I may also give people the items as gifts for certain ocassions. The third is that I can turn a simple household item into a work of art.In short glass painting has greatly benefitted me and I hope to learn even more ways to create art.

My experience using glass paints were indescribable. Glass painting opened up a whole new level of art for me because I didn't know about glass paints. Glass painting made me feel like I had a lot of talent because my first piece came out ten times better tan I expected. Mr. Dilip Maharaj, my art teacher, is the person who is responsible for my success in glass painting he has taught me everything I know about glass painting. I will never forget when he painted that astonishing scenery of a fish swimming in the ocean.
The glass paint was a bit difficult at first because the paint was very loose and when I tried to spread it the brush moved it away. After practice it was very easy and everything went good.
The biggest "wow" factor during the term was my first piece because it was my best piece and there was nothing not to love. The colors were vibrant it was awesome to me.
I am going to use art in the future by making gifts and making wall-hangings to save money.
I will continue to do art in my life because of it's many benefits. I love art!

  52. this topic was a very good topic but it was tough to there were many difficulties but after you have conquered the difficulties it came out very well but there were obstacles some of my obstacles were getting materials because a lot of the art stores did not have the materials like transparency sheet and the glass paints my second obstacle figuring out what image that is was going to draw every time i got a image i wanted it simpler but when i decided on the image and i drew it on the transparency sheet and i painted the image the marker had run with the paint and mixed up my last obstacle was when i had painted the image all the paint had run to one corner of the sheet but after i had conquered all these obstacles it did not come out how i wanted it to it came out even better and i think glass painting should be tough in every school through out Trinidad and can be used to make gifts and art

  54. At the very first time I learnt glass painting it was kind of hard to do. After a while it got a little easier than the first time. You do glass painting on a transparency sheet with glass paint. If you want your glass painting to come out good, you must have patience and you should never rush it. When I do my glass painting I take a little bit of paint and I paint from side to side on my transparency sheet. I take my time because when I do it fast there bubbles coming on it and when it dries there is a rough surface. Glass painting is a very fun activity to do although it takes very long. We can make different things with it, frame it and make it into anything you want. There are many great paintings you can make it out of. Learning glass painting was really fun amazing during the term. If I keep on practicing I will get better at it. For me one of the best topics I learnt so far is GLASS PAINTING.

This term is learnt about glass painting. Glass painting is fun, easy and in the end, your art piece looks really good.
I learnt a lot of art topics and glass painting is my favourite. In order for you to paint on glass you need: glass paint, paint brush, and a sheet of glass

  57. This term we learned Glass painting. This topic was very interesting because it was different from the usual Poster and Acrylic paints that I have been using since form 1. This is a very interesting topic and I was happy that it was taught to me this term. The first thing we learned was to paint the Glass paint on a sheet called Transparency Sheet. We produced a lot of art works and all came out a perfectly thanks to the Glass Paints. The medium used was perhaps very usable as it allowed me to create many products. My biggest "wow" factor was being able to learn how to make a chandelier with the Glass Paints and the Transparency Sheets. I am going to use this skill in my future by using the Glass Paints and the Transparency Sheets to make beautiful art works and frame them as a decoration fro my home. Yes, this term`s work has affected the way I see art by teaching me the appreciation of it`s topics and how ti can benifit me. - Dimitri Edoo 2B

  61. Form 2v Anil Ramdass At first when our teacher came into class and said (we are going to do glass painting this term .) I truly did not bothered about it but to my surprise I really enjoyed this topic . I started practising with the glass paint on transparency paper , I thought that this paint was like any normal paint but it was totally different it was able to allow the sun rays to shine though which give it an amazing effect . The teacher then told us to incorporate the paint with an object. After I did as he said ,I realized that if I could further develop my skills in this topic I could even earn a source of income . This topic changed my entire view about art , I noticed that art is not only drawing on a piece of paper but enhancing other materials .

I enjoyed this topic very much.We learned how to use it and to put it in to use.I really enjoyed this topic because of all the things that were included, such as the paint, the transparent sheet and markers that made a beautiful picture at the end.The next reason that made this topic enjoyable was our great teacher Sir Dilip maharaj. The biggest wow factor during this term was how you could make the drawing look like if it was really living with all the effects and how beautiful it looked when the light went straight through it.I am planing to use this skill in the future by getting pictures i like and painting it so that i can hang it over my window to see the beauty. This term's work has affected my way of seeing art in a different way.Art is very amazing after i finished this topic.

Glass painting was a fun and new experience to me. I really enjoyed doing it .I thought at first my painting was scrappy and poorly done. The strokes of painting on plastic felt different and the paint also came out in glossy pattern. I will surely use this skill in the future. I see art as a way to express yourself about how you feel about it.It has benefited me because instead of buying cards or other items you can make them. I also realize that a proper planning can give you good rewards. Art also teaches you to have patience in your work and helps you think better in your other subjects. Art helps me to relieve my stress and keeps you concentrated. The glass paint looked like putting oil in water. At the end of my first product I was shocked to see my work came out good. Light went through but with colored effect bringing out the color’s in the sheet. Even the colors that were painted on night before appeared more clearly than the others. Glass painting on the whole was new to me and I really enjoyed doing it.

I thought that glass painting is just drawing on a piece of paper , but now I know that art takes many forms like glass painting. Glass painting is a hard technique to learn but the results are fantastic . Places like churches, temples etc. have glass painting on the window.
I now know that is no just for style but it is a work of art. Buildings, signs, and advertisements inspire me to make more glass paintings. I think that glass painting is fantastic and I hope I inspired you to make glass paintings of your own!

My glass painting experience has been sensational for me having to use glass paint for the first time. Glass painting has improved my art work and has made me more aware of how this new style of painting can be used to make personalized gifts for my family and even depending on my practice and improvement in using this mode of painting I may even be able to put up some for sale.
I think this medium is different and with practice gives me another option to improve my work. My opinion on the biggest “wow” factor during this terms work was when our art teacher sir Dilip Maharaj introduced us to the use of glass paint. This surprised me a lot because I have always had an interest for anything to do with art.
I am going to use this new skill in the future to my benefit hoping with the improvement my work would become recognize and I can even become famous. Yes, I think this terms work has affected the way I see art now because it has increased my knowledge and with practice would improve my performance.

When I first heard of glass paint I was really surprised that we would be working with it. I was impressed at first but at my first experience it became a little frustrating because when I passed one coat and pass another it was like picking up more than spreading. After that I realized that one coat is enough. It was a truly fun and educating experience.

My journey through glass painting was really a great experience. At the beginning when I saw the level of work sir was expecting I was a bit frightened.I was wrong and very impressed of how well i did it my first time.Upon being given the challenge of manipulating what we learned to do on the transparency sheet onto an actual piece of glass, I was really confident. I decided to do a beer mug for my dad using his favorite colors Blue,Green and RED.It came out really great.
